Record breaking crowds attended the 18th Annual St. Jude Gourmet Gala. Supporting St Jude lets us support children’s health on a national and international stage.
St. Jude was created by Danny Thomas to treat children and their families. When he opened St. Jude in 1957, they chose acute leukemia as their first priority, a disease with 4% survival. St. Jude is the largest private research institution addressing childhood cancers. Today survival for acute leukemia is 94%.
Families who bring their sick children to St. Jude’s in Memphis Tennessee do not pay for care, food, housing or transportation. Patient’s families speak of love from every St. Jude staff member they meet.
Charity events such the Gourmet Gala make this care possible.
A record-breaking 880 guests and 34 chefs attended the 18th Annual Gourmet Gala. The chef’s provided tasting menus of their signature dishes. It was an evening of great tastes and a great cause. With costs of providing care to children with cancer running a little over a million dollars a day at St. Jude, please consider donating today to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
