New Vice President of Human Resources for Johns Hopkins Health System

Inez Stewart, M.Ed., has assumed the role of senior vice president of human resources for the Johns Hopkins Health System.

With more than 30 years of experience in human resources management and a deep understanding of its role in academic medicine, Stewart joins Johns Hopkins from Boston Children’s Hospital, where she served as vice president and chief human resources officer.

As senior vice president of human resources, Stewart will help recruit, develop and support Johns Hopkins employees while fostering the highest quality of care for its patients. Working with The Johns Hopkins University’s human resource leaders and with the health system’s vice presidents of human resources, she will continue the alignment of the objectives across Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Robert A. Kasdin, senior vice president and chief operating officer for Johns Hopkins Medicine, announced Stewart’s appointment to employees in November. She started in her new role on Jan. 3.

“I am confident that Inez will be a wonderful addition to Johns Hopkins Medicine,” says Kasdin. “I am equally certain that she will help lead us to greater heights as we continue to attract, engage, retain and develop the world’s best people.”

Prior to joining Boston Children’s, Stewart held several senior executive human resources posts. She served as vice president of human resources for Tufts Medical Center and in various vice presidential posts with the Polaroid Corporation. Prior to that, she sharpened her talents with Arthur D. Little Inc., Latin America Business Partners and Lotus Development Corporation.

“I am honored to join Johns Hopkins and take this responsibility very seriously,” says Stewart. “I look forward to helping the institution maintain its status as one of the premier, world-class organizations and best places of employment. In addition, representing our organization within the Baltimore community will be part of developing strong partnerships with our local workforce.”
